A few years ago, Facebook implemented facial recognition technology that automatically allows you to scan photos once you’ve uploaded them to the site.
The optional feature scans photos as soon as they’re captured. It then automatically matches them and suggests friends to share them with. Facebook aims to streamline the photo sharing process by eliminating the need to shuffle through images, open a separate app, and individually post content. Instead, users will snap a photo and receive a notification with a single “share” button.
Facebook recently launched Photo Magic in Australia and plans to expand the service to the United States soon after.
