Back in January, Pantone® announced that 2013’s color of the year is green, or more specifically, Emerald 17-5641.
As a designer, I have to admit I wasn’t nearly as excited with this year’s choice as I was with Pantone’s color last year, Tangerine Tango 17-1463. But you really can’t go wrong with the color green. I have expanded Pinomaki’s design palate to include emerald and other various shades. Green is a great color to use because it has so many shades that can represent a wide range of meanings. The color stands for life, growth, prosperity, and it is one of the easiest colors the human eye can see. Used correctly, green can create harmonious and fresh images in your mind. “Going Green” is a great example of demonstrating visually one of the world’s biggest causes — being environmentally friendly.
