Parallel Interactive partnered with Hawthorne Cat to plan a community outreach campaign to spread awareness of the company’s largest-ever food drive, collecting over 1 ton of food for San Diego residents in need.
With nearly half a million San Diego County residents living in poverty, children, senior citizens and the working-poor face food insecurity issues every day. Together, Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, San Diego State University Athletics, and Hawthorne Cat collected 2,214 pounds of food for San Diego residents during the Fall Food Drive community outreach program. Hawthorne Cat’s collected food provided more than 1,730 nutritious meals to San Diego families in need.
Local television and print media relations featured Hawthorne Cat’s contributions. The company was awarded the Corporate Sponsor of the Year Award by The San Diego Food Bank, and Caterpillar selected the dealership as a finalist in the annual Social Responsibility Award.
